The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Suhuyini Alhassan Sayibu, has expressed dismay over what he claims is the transfer of state property to a private developer
The Tamale North legislator requested clarification from the land minister on whether the Tamale Aboabo Timber Market had been sold to a private developer, while the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources was responding to questions.
The Ministry and the private developer, according to Mr. Suhiyini Alhassan, considered the Minister’s reaction to the Northern Regional Lands Commission’s recent allegation that the commission had not sold the land contradictory.
He was addressing the press in Parliament after the Minister answered questions on the floor of Parliament.
The assertions of the Tamale North MP were refuted by Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Samuel Abu Jinapor. Jinapor claims that when he became Minister, he inherited the contract. Speaking to the media in parliament, he indicated that, Suhuyini Alhassan’s assertions are incorrect and asked the general public to dismiss the claims.
